How Do I Become A GAL/CASA Volunteer?

Becoming a GAL/CASA volunteer requires a commitment on your part to serve children.  In order to become a volunteer with the Hamilton County GAL/CASA Program, you must:

  • Complete a 32-hour training course consisting of evenings and weekends.

  • Submit to a criminal records check.

  • Complete 12 hours of continuing eduation each year.

  • Have the time available to make contact with families and children, and to review documentation in order to interview and investigate a case assigned to you.

  • Be able to attend court hearings if required during your case.

  • Be able to travel to homes and facilities.

  • See your case through from start to finish.

The children deserve committed volunteers!
